God’s Masterpiece
When you saw the word “Masterpiece”, the first likely thing to cross your mind would be a craftsman’s work. And you are right.
According to the dictionary, a masterpiece is a piece of work that has been given much critical praise, especially one that is considered the greatest work of a person’s career. It can also be said to be a work of outstanding creativity, skill, or workmanship.
Literally, a masterpiece is an excellent show-off of a person’s skills and creativity.
Now imagine being God’s own masterpiece, like you are the greatest work of God and he derives pleasure in showing you off because that is who you are.
Then God said, “Now let’s make humans1:26 humans The Hebrew word means “man,” “people,” or the name “Adam.” It is like the word meaning “earth” or “red clay.” who will be like us.1:26 Now let’s make … like us Or “Now let’s make humans in our image and in our likeness.” They will rule over all the fish in the sea and the birds in the air. They will rule over all the large animals and all the little things that crawl on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 (ERV)
To become a craftsman’s masterpiece, you will have to go through critical phases, you will have to be subjected to processes that will shape you into perfection and make you fit according to the craftsman’s desire. That process might look rigorous to you but they are definitely not to despair, the end goal is to become his perfect masterpiece.
At creation, God made man in his own image which means he gave man the capacity to be like him. All that you need to be his masterpiece was given to you at conception, but you wouldn’t know how to use them in the absence of the craftsman whose intention is to carefully shape you into what he wants, HIS MASTERPIECE.
You formed my innermost being, shaping my delicate inside and my intricate outside, and wove them all together in my mother’s womb.
I thank you God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord!
You even formed every bone in my body when you created me in the secret place, carefully, skillfully shaping me from nothing to something. Psalms 139:13–14.
Of course, being God’s MASTERPIECE, doesn’t mean you won’t face trials and temptations or that life would be a nice scented bed of roses, but that even when everything happens, you never stopped being God’s Masterpiece. You never lose your wonder, because everything you go through was designed by God to make you perfect.
“And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!” John 16:33
And this is the victory we have in Christ Jesus.
