Little Wonders

One of the things I look forward to in my marriage is conceiving and giving birth to my children. (Focus Keyword: One of the things)

Wonder why? I also don’t know why but I know I’m always in awe of how a human(the mother) will have another human(the baby) conceived inside her and the fetus grows for a whole 9 months before birth happens. How does this even happen?

One of the many wonders of God that leaves me awestruck is every time I see a new baby, a pregnant woman, or a toddler.

For the pregnant woman, I wonder how she’s able to move on with her life knowing that another life is growing in her. How is she able to handle the demands of the baby and herself?

For a new baby, I wonder how he/she was able to cope inside the mother, and for the toddler, I wonder how can a baby grow from being tiny to a bundle of energy and a source of joy to the family.

Sometimes, just seeing these beauties gives me butterflies in my tummy. On several occasions, it took a whole lot of self-control for me not to touch a stranger’s baby. The least I do is engage the toddlers with funny faces or a conversation as the situation may be, depending on their age.

I guess I will never know how it feels till I have personal experiences, trust me to document them so I can go back and relive God’s wonders in memories. Yes, I call them God’s wonder because it is indeed his wonder, he alone knows how he structured the birth process to be like that and why he did it.

This story is inspired by Bunmi Oduah’s post about Baby Noah Oluwasijibomi in January 2022.
