The seventh sense of human; Sense of entitlement
The man was created and blessed with six senses organs but some of us only know five because the sixth sense is an underappreciated sense. Sight, smell, hearing, taste, touch, and extrasensory perception (click the word to read more).
Alongside the six senses that we have as humans, we have included a seventh sense which is a sense of entitlement. This seventh sense is not restricted to a particular, gender, religion, economic status. Everyone everywhere has this seventh sense but not everyone understands the danger of the active state of the seventh sense.
According to some amazing researchers, sense of entitlement is a pervasive sense that one deserves more and is entitled to more than others. It is also defined as “an unrealistic, unmerited, or inappropriate expectation of favorable living conditions and favorable treatment at the hands of others.”
Just like the other seven senses, we have believed and accepted that this seventh sense is necessary for survival. People feel entitled to getting help and support and people also feel entitled to helping others and giving them support. Giving to the needy is not a crime, but it becomes when you want to help at the expense of yourself and also get accolades for your help. Getting help and support from people is not a crime but it becomes one when you expect them to compulsorily help you at the expense of themselves.
When you give, you don’t give because you think you are under a compulsion to give. You give out of love. The bible says in Mark 12:31 “……….Love your neighbor as yourself………..” not less than yourself or more than yourself.
You don’t give because you feel guilty that you are richer or you have better opportunities. It is not your fault that you had access to the good things of life so quit helping people because you want to feel good about what you have.
The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these. Mark 12:31
Feeling entitled to other people’s wealth literally means that you need their wealth so as not to feel guilty about your lack of funds or lack of opportunity to acquire the good things of life. It puts you in a dangerous position, and you start being resentful because they refuse to share their wealth with you. It is nobody’s fault that you are not wealthy enough to afford what you need so quit whining and complaining about some people’s refusal to help you.
You know, unlike the other senses which aid your movement as a human and save you from danger, this seventh sense will see danger and will willfully lead you into it if you don’t manage it well.
God has strategically placed everyone everywhere they are. What you need might not be in the capacity of the person you are asking but because you have been blinded by the seventh sense, you can not see correctly.
You are responsible for your decisions and actions, don’t allow one seventh sense to dicate your way of life for you and miss out of God’s plan for you.
